The Key Issue

One of our distinctions and indeed our passion is the fact that we are as involved in our clients' move as we are in the sale itself. Certainly, for most people the property into which they are moving is a lot more exciting than the property they are about to leave.

Yet on moving day itself, we find that some agents have lost interest in the event! They are guaranteed their commission and are already focussing their attentions on other sales. What a shame, and what a lost opportunity to provide a service level that could change people's perceptions of the stereotypical estate agent.

We believe estate agency is service-related more than it is property-related. How we facilitate the whole moving process illustrates this. For example, whereas most agents will simply hand you the key if you care to drive to their office, a good agent will meet the new owners at the property with the keys and will make sure they work properly. There is nothing worse than having been given the wrong set of keys with the removers keen to get cracking starting to pile your personal possessions on the front lawn!

Once inside, a good agent will help you check the property over, read the electricity, gas and water meters with you, and clear away any unwanted post that might need redirecting. They should also provide a sheet of redirection labels and be happy to put you in touch with any tradesmen you might require.

Going further than this (and we believe we are the only agents in Sunderland to do any of the above), we have recently introduced a key-holding service. Rather than you having to take a morning off work to await delivery of your new washing machine, or you need your plants watering when you are away, or especially if you lock yourself out, we can permanently and securely hold a spare key for such eventualities, making your enjoyment of your new home even more relaxed.
